01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Peet's Coffee in La Jolla, CA, stands out as a refined sanctuary for coffee and tea enthusiasts seeking quality, innovation, and a welcoming vibe. Located at 7910 Girard Ave unit b, this coffee shop masterfully blends timeless coffee craftsmanship with contemporary flavors that delight the senses.

Step inside and you'll find a thoughtfully curated menu that embraces both classic and adventurous palates. Their Seasonal Favorites showcase inventive offerings like the Iced Blushing Latte — a luscious dark roasted Espresso Forte® infused with cold milk and vibrant strawberry purée served over ice. It’s a refreshing balance of rich espresso depth with a bright, fruity flair that wakes you up with a smile.

If you lean toward nourishing blends, the Matcha Peach Protein Smoothie invites you to experience Mighty Leaf Matcha swirled through creamy whole milk and banana purée, kissed with peach flavor, ice, and an energizing whey protein boost. For something smooth and bold, the Cold Brew Protein Smoothie combines invigorating cold brew espresso with frosty oat milk for an indulgent, wholesome treat.

The Frappé and Tea Frappé selections are a delight, especially on sunny SoCal days. The Matcha Frappé offers pure Japanese Matcha beautifully balanced with cold milk and ice, crowned with whipped cream—a creamy and lightly grassy experience that feels both refreshing and sophisticated. Meanwhile, the Chai Frappé merges the subtle spice and sweetness of Peet’s signature chai with milk and ice, delivering a smooth, tea-lover’s indulgence offset by a satisfying chill.

For those who enjoy brewing at home, Peet’s offers a range of espresso capsules like Major Dickason's — their flagship rich, smooth, full-bodied blend full of complexity, or the Big Bang Capsules, roasting Ethiopian beans to bright, medium-bodied perfection for a cup that sings with fruity brightness.

Beyond the drinks, Peet's Coffee garners praise for its accommodating atmosphere. Customers like Galina have noted the presence of free WiFi, plenty of outlets for charging devices, and thoughtful vegan options including plant-based sandwiches with Impossible patties, vegan cheese, and even vegan carrot cakes. The staff may occasionally come across as reserved, as Allen Prescott shared, yet they remain courteous and ensure you get your perfect cup.

Local regulars such as Lucas Monari highlight the consistently excellent cappuccinos and friendly, reliable service, making Peet’s a definitive go-to spot when working nearby. Meanwhile, Dr. Rosie Ann Riley was impressed by the quality of the matcha latte and the warmth of the employees, recommending this spot for tea and coffee lovers alike.

While some guests suggest that the outdoor seating could be better positioned out front rather than on the side, the intimate dining area retains a cozy feel that encourages a moment of pause in your busy day. Whether grabbing a quick caffeine fix or settling in with a laptop, Peet's Coffee in La Jolla combines exceptional specialty beverages with convenience and a touch of community warmth.

In essence, this Peet’s Coffee location offers a finely tuned balance of bold flavors, thoughtful menu options, and a welcoming setting that appeals to both connoisseurs and casual drinkers. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving a rich, satisfying coffee experience infused with genuine care and subtle innovation.

I was traveling and had to work on my laptop and you never are wrong when headed to Peet’s where is free WiFi and affordable vegan options like a plant-based sandwich with impossible patty, vegan JUST egg, and vegan cheese. They also had vegan carrot cakes, my chai latte was made with Ripple (pea protein alternative milk). Outlets if you need to charge your devices. I do get cold easily and on a chilly day they still had AC inside so I got cold after some time.

I got the sparkling peach matcha. It was very refreshing and the matcha quality was good but there wasn’t much matcha. It just tasted like peach sparkling water.

One of my favorite coffee places. The coffee is just excellent. The young people behind the counter were fairly indifferent but they were courteous enough. The dining area is small and the outside seating is on the side rather than out front which would be better. Truly great drinks for sure.

The coffee was delicious as expected from Pete's. Yet, sitting close to the counter where finished coffees and teas were placed I could hear the baristas telling people to be careful of hot tea and telling them how long to steep it for the best flavor. I also heard them address customers by name when they came in. These people really care and were very efficient and on top of everything.

One barista has tried to ban me 5 times and another one constantly harasses me. When I order they're sarcastic and clearly want me to leave them alone. Attitudes could be better. Best coffee I've ever had. 11/10 recommend. The caramel macchiato, horchata coldbrew, and pastries are my faves. PS: They're my friends, they're actually awesome. Please tip them :) <3 All the staff at this location are lovely and work very hard.
